The ‘Miniboom’ continues !

01.09.2020

Despite lots of pessimism about the prospects for the housing market, the temporary abolition of stamp duty on property purchases up to £500,000 lit the blue touch paper on a  ‘miniboom’. There was a lot of pent up demand anyway, which has returned, but now combined with new buyers who realized during lock down they need a property with more space, or a garden, or somewhere to work at home, or some other reason to move. There is a trend of people moving out of  densely populated  urban  areas to greener suburban areas like ours. With the remodeling of working  routines, there is suddenly much less need to live very close to a tube or overground station.  The whole scenario has resulted in an exceptionally busy period for us with as many properties now under offer as in previous boom years. Fortunately as well this time round there’s a good balance of more buyers and more sellers at the same time.
