| As the lettings side of Mervyn Smith grew, and the legal and safety
considerations of letting become more detailed, we felt we needed
a partnership with a dedicated letting business. So for the past decade
and a half our partners Sargent and Young have looked after the day-to-day
administration and management of our rental properties from their
offices in White Hart Lane in Barnes. This also means that we benefit
from the two principals there, - Nicky Sargent and Charlotte Godley
both being registered with ARLA (Association of Residential Letting
Agents), which provides expertise, maintenance of professional and
legal standards and compliance with the latest legislation and health
and safety issues. All our properties are of course fully marketed
from the Mervyn Smith office and get all the spread of internet advertising
over multiple national websites and local newspaper and magazine advertising.
Equally though our lettings portyfolio benefits from all the additional
advertising budget of Sargent and Young as well, which reaches a different
clientele. The combination has proved a winning formula, with an ever-expanding
roster of properties in the local area and beyond. Many of our landlords
have retained our services over many years, and some of them have
multiple properties managed by us.
