HERE WE GO IN 2022….

08.01.2022

Now that we can look back at a crazy year for property sales in 2021, we can see prices went up around 10% all told last year. That’s an average which masks some differences between different types of property. The biggest rise in property prices locally was for detached houses, whilst although flats did increase in value in 2022, they didn’t go up as much, particularly flats without gardens or other outside space. On the other hand we did start to see more activity with flat sales in the latter half of last year and that was because more first time buyers started to register with us, possibly because mortgage lenders relaxed some of their criteria. The Halifax have just reported their own data on last year with their predictions for 2022 and we pretty much concur with them in expecting prices will continue to grow in 2022, but probably not at the stellar rate we saw last year.
