Use your Vote for more Community Project Funding for our area !
Your Ham and Petersham Neighbourhood Forum Committee has already been successful in bidding for money from the Richmond Council Community Fund to finance a feasibility study to develop a cycle and walking route through Ham and Petersham as part of the Kingston to Richmond cycle route. Now theres another round of voting for some new projects across Richmond Borough.
Obviously we would encourage everyone to use their vote to support the local community. Everyone who lives or is in education in the Borough can vote. Our bid in Round 2 of the voting is for an improvement scheme for St Richards Square – the area on Ashburnham Road where many of you go to use the Post Office, Tesco and the other shops and services. We would like to both upgrade it and to ensure its viability as one of the centres of our community.
Actually relatively little has been done to the Square since it was built over 50 years ago and the Forum Committee believe there are practical aspects which could be improved to everyone’s benefit. For example, there is only limited opportunity to sit, and the wall and flower bed forms a barrier between the shops and the church and school. We need as many of you as possible to go online and show your support and more than one person can vote from the same household. Voting in Round 2 is open now until 13th July.
