Great results for Ham and Petersham in the Village Planning Fund votes for local community projects!

Great results for Ham and Petersham in the votes for local community projects to receive funding from the Richmond Borough Village Planning Fund. In our last couple of blogs and notices we asked you to vote for Petersham and Ham Sea Scouts to receive help towards the cost of their much needed new scout hut. The great news is that of all the many projects put forward right across all of Richmond Borough this project attracted the third most votes of all the potential projects. Not only that – the Ham and Petersham Neighbourhood Forum – of which Mervyn Smith manager Stan Shaw serves as a member – supported this project and also  a bid to fund a feasibility study for a cycle route through the area which would be part of a Kingston – Richmond route, accessible to a broad range of ages and abilities and non-flooding. This project received the joint highest number of votes. Special congratulations are due here to Neighbourhood Forum Committee member Justine Langford who worked very hard on this proposal.

Thanks Justine !

All London Borough of Richmond residents will have received a leaflet from the Council about the Village Planning Fund. The Ham and Petersham Neighbourhood Planning Committee – of which Mervyn Smith MD Stan Shaw serves as a member – support three projects in Ham and Petersham bidding for some of this money and all three can be successful if you show your support. The Neighbourhood Forum has made a bid to fund a feasibility study for a cycle route through the area which would be part of a Kingston – Richmond route. It would be accessible to a broad range of ages and abilities and non-flooding. Secondly the Petersham and Ham Sea Scouts have submitted a bid for funding towards their much needed new Scout Hut. Thirdly, St Andrew’s Church is bidding for funds to refurbish the church hall which is widely used by the local community. We believe these are all practical projects which will benefit the community. If you agree, it is important to show your support for the funding so please vote online at
